How to score CAD pricing
Lightspeed Loyalty can be the lowest cost for a shop already on Lightspeed, since the module may come with the plan. Moneris Gift and Loyalty adds a monthly fee and setup, with rates set by quote.
TapMango and FiveStars bill per location, often in the low three figures per month. Stamp Me offers a free tier for one location, then paid tiers as you add sites.
Payment-linked fees on Moneris programs sit on top of the subscription, so calculate both parts. Loyalty points can have GST/HST consequences, and the CRA guidance on GST/HST for loyalty programs explains the rules (accessed 9 May 2026).
Bilingual interface and POS integration
Lightspeed Loyalty ships with French language support because Lightspeed is Montreal-based. Moneris Gift and Loyalty offers French terminal prompts. TapMango, FiveStars and Stamp Me each list French app text or French marketing templates. Always verify the French interface on a demo account, not in a sales deck.
Native integration means the loyalty engine reads the sale without middleware. Lightspeed Loyalty is native to Lightspeed. Moneris Gift and Loyalty is native to Moneris. Standalone apps TapMango, FiveStars and Stamp Me require a documented API or middleware to sync transactions with Lightspeed or Moneris. Check your exact terminal model before signing.
What none of them solve
Every named app rewards people who already come. It does not create a reason to visit. If the espresso is inconsistent or the queue is slow, points will not repair it. A weak online listing also undermines any loyalty app, as covered in hospitality reputation management that survives contact with reality.
All five apps collect personal information. Canadian operators fall under PIPEDA and, in Quebec, Law 25. Use the NIST Privacy Framework to decide what to collect and how long to keep it.
A short evaluation sequence
- Confirm which POS terminal each location uses and which named app supports it natively.
- Ask each vendor for a written CAD quote covering subscription, per-transaction fees and setup.
- Verify the French interface on a demo account, not in a sales deck.
- Run the program at one location for 90 days and measure repeat visits against a control store.
- Expand only after the pilot location shows a repeat-visit lift.
- Written CAD quote on file
- French interface verified in the demo
- Named app integration tested on a live terminal
- Privacy policy updated for the new data
The cheapest loyalty app is the one your staff already know how to use at 7am.
